Nearly all of the forecasts we are presented in Norway comes from either Storm or The Meteorologiske Institutt . Both of them use mostly the same raw data provided by Hirlam in the Netherlands and ECMWF based in Reading UK. Based on the data provided they produce and present their own predictions. As you probably have experienced these are often not similar, with Met tending to be the most conservative of the two. Mostly due to the use of different case modeling resulting in especially different temperature predictions. My own experience is also that sometimes they tend to be late to warn us when "strong winds" are approaching. Why this is I do not know, but it is fairly well known that most norwegian fishermen choose an english or danish radioservice for weatherforecasts......!! Lately I have also obsereved Storm tending to "overforecast" precipitationvalues. There are several other services out there that make w.pred. This page is meant to be a supplement to the two above by gathering some alternative weatherinformation. If nothing else it will at least give us weathernerds more useless information to fill our heads with......enjoy!! Also try Theyr They provide great weatherservice. Now you have to pay though.
